Feature list capella audio2score

capella audio2score analyzes the content of audio recordings (e.g. MP3 files) and converts them into notes.

Detection of polyphonic sounds of any instrumental recording (except drums; limitation for vocals; see manual)

Automatic arrangement of the recognized notes for different ensembles (e.g. piano, string quartet, wind quintet, guitar, monophonic, etc.); independent of the original

Specification of different levels of difficulty for piano arrangements; Level of detail slider

Intelligent distribution of notes to voices (no fixed split points, but formation of lines)

Recognition of barlines (can be corrected if desired)

Key detection (can be corrected if desired)

Tuning detection (concert pitch a')

Automatic local derivation of enharmonic changes (“F sharp” or “G flat”?) according to the harmonic context

Adjustable formatting of the notes (page size, measure numbers, ...)

Notes can be transposed if desired

All settings with real-time preview

Good playback quality of the recognized notes using soundfonts (capella-tune)

Monitoring of the result by simultaneous playback of the original recording (mixer function), at any tempo (time stretching)

Input formats (audio): MP3, WAV; WMA (Windows only)

Output formats (sheet music): CapXML (capella), MusicXML, PDF

For recordings with vocals, a stereo technical suppression of the vocals is offered on request (this does not work in all cases, but often works with pop songs, for example). In this way, only the instrumental part (accompaniment) can be recognized, but in most cases with better quality.

What capella audio2score can not do:

No detection of drums

Singing or loud drums may degrade the recognition result

No separate recognition of singing (singing notes and
instrumental notes are mixed in the score)

No instrument detection according to timbre (i.e. notes are automatically divided into voices according to pitch, not according to timbre)

The time signature (numerator/denominator) has to be specified manually (positioning of
barlines is then detected automatically)

This is included:
